Calvin Hanks owner of FHS Compliance

Calvin Hanks

MSc, MSc, PgC, CMIOSH, MCIEH, FRSPH, FIIRSM

Calvin began his career in the hospitality industry and after a 3 year hotel trainee management programme moved into hotel management, as assistant and later becoming general manager of London Hotels. 

 

It was during this time he discovered his love of compliance and began to retrain in Health and safety, food safety and later on completing an MSc in Environmental health.

 

His experience in compliance implementation includes hotels, conference centres, caterers, and much more.

Nicky Slavid

Nicky Slavid

BSc (Hons), CEnvH, REnvH, GradIOSH

Nicky began her career as a chef and later catering manager in contract catering, which ignited her passion for all things Environmental health. 

 

After completing a BSc in Environmental Health, she moved into compliance of food manufacturer and retail working with large chains in the UK and internationally. 

Steve James

Steve James

CEnvH, MCIEH, DMS, DipEH, Dip Acoustics

Steve has extensive experience in Environmental Health, from frontline roles in local authorities to working with events.  In local authority roles he managed noise for the Notting Hill Carnival as well as working on out of hours noise nuisance.

 

In recent years he has worked with high profile events including Love Box, SW4, We are FSTVL and others as well as national and international hotel groups advising them on health & safety and food safety.

Mike Langford

Mike Langford

PgC, PgC, GradIOSH, MIIRSM, MCIEH

Mike’s early career was in the hospitality sector, before joining the Royal Navy, based on Submarines. After leaving the Royal Navy he has worked on a range of projects with his experience including advising hotels, bars, events and food premises. 

 

He is currently working on an MSc in Environmental health.

Dave Axtell

Dave Axtell

MSc, BSc

David spent 12 years as a chef, kitchen manager and chef trainer, before moving into the role of Safety Advisor carrying out safety audits nationally and internationally for restaurants, hotels, mobile caterers, pubs, casinos, coffee shop chains and cinemas.

 

His previous experience as a kitchen manager allows him to ensure that audits and training are based on real-life experience. As a registered Environmental Health Practitioner, he works with a range of clients specifically in food safety

Jennifer McKeown

BSc, MSc, REnvH, FRSPH, MCIEH

After a decade working in the hospitality sector Jennie re-trained as an Environmental Health Practitioner and moved into the role of Auditor carrying out food and health & safety audits nationally in a range of settings, before becoming an EHO with a local authority. 

She specialises in all forms of food work, commercial noise investigations and local air quality management.  Her previous hospitality experience allows her to ensure that all work required of a business is based on real-life experience.
